片岡山の家

段丘に架けた大きな屋根の下で暮らす。

大和川の広い河川敷から続く段丘に計画した住宅です。敷地は段丘の上段で接道しており、王寺・三郷の街並みや、信貴山から生駒山へ続く山並みを一望できます。敷地中央から先は約3m下がった下段、擁壁を介して更に約4.5m下がり、隣地と接しています。下段に土留め・高基礎を兼ねて寝室・クローゼットを納め、上段に広い水平面を確保します。そこにキッチン、階段、水廻りを分散配置して、大きな切妻屋根を架け、開放性・回遊性の高い軒下空間を生活の中心に据えています。切妻屋根は茫漠な景色を絵画のように切り取り、側面のスリットから通風・採光を取り入れ、駐車場からの円滑なアプローチを可能にしています。素材感や彩度を抑えた仕上げと線の少ないディテールは、建築自身の存在を薄め、そこで営まれる生活や広がる風景を主役に引き立てています。

House in Kataokayama

This house was built on the slope of the southern hill formed by the flow of the Yamato River, which is one of the largest river in Nara Prefecture. A concrete structure inserted into the slope supports the ground, and by covering it with a large gable roof, a living space with a good view was created.The roof has three functions. The first is to approach smoothly from the parking lot to the entrance, the second is to concentrate on the view from the living room, and the third is to take in light and wind through the triangular slits on the side.
